Question by Fuzz: Can I record a band with the new macbook without firewire?
I am looking into buying a new laptop and was wondering if a macbook (vs. a pc) is the best option? The macbook pro is not an option. I want to record my band on separate tracks if possible. I hear that usb 2.0 isn’t a fast enough connection for guitar, bass, and drums. I am new at recording and open to any suggestions.

USB 2.0′s max speed is 480 mbps, but it cannot sustain that kind of speed at all.
Firewire’s sustained speed is 400mbps, so on average, it is faster than usb.
