So you just bought a Sony Xperia T and thinking what you should do with this new smartphone, here’s ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) for your Sony Xperia T that lets you flash custom ROMs, custom MODs, and more that allow you tweak your Android smartphone, it also lets you take the backup of your phone and wipe it when you need.
Read on how to install ClockworkMod Recovery on Sony Xperia T but first do keep in mind that if you want install a custom ROM after flashing ClockworkMod recovery on your Xperia T, try this otherwise not, because after the installation your phone will reboot in just recovery mode, you’ll have to install a custom ROM to get it into normal mode, you can install the CyanogenMod 10 custom ROM that based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. If you don’t want install custom ROM after the installation of this recovery, don’t install it.
Do keep in mind that the bootloader of your Sony Xperia T must be unlocked, you can unlock the bootloader officially here and before unlocking it make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the unlocking bootloader may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps. Instructions Step #1: Read the above requirements.
Step #4: Unzip the downloaded fastboot.zip file into C:.
Step #5: Copy the recovery.img that you downloaded in first step to fastboot folder you obtained in step 4 at C:.
Step #6: Turn your Xperia T off.
Step #7: Reboot the phone into fastboot mode and connect to PC, to do so hold down the volume up button on the phone while plugging it to PC using the USB cable.
Step #9: Enter following commands to install recovery:
cd c:Fastboot
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
if you got a message “waiting for device”, enter another following command:
fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot recovery.img
Once the recovery is installed, you’ll get a message “finished”/OKAY”.
Step #10: Once the recovery.img is installed, enter another following command to reboot phone:
fastboot reboot
Step #11: Unplug the phone from PC.
