Sony VAIO T14 and T15 touchscreen Ultrabooks arrive at Sony’s store, Best Buy starting at

Sony flaunted its VAIO T series 14- and 15-inch Windows 8 touch-enabled Ultrabooks at CES 2013 last month, but we weren’t able to do anything at the time but snap, film and fondle them a bit. Now those models have arrived on Sony’s store for pre-order, giving us a complete picture of pricing, specs and availability. We knew about the 15.5-inch, 1920 x 1080 touchscreen for the T15, and now we also know it’ll be available with 3rd generation Intel Core i3-3227U, i5-3337U and i7-3537U processors starting at $ 770, $ 950 and $ 1,150 respectively. Lenovo equips ThinkPad X1 Carbon ultrabook with touchscreen for Windows 8

Lenovo on Tuesday announced the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch, the Windows 8-optimized version of the X1 Carbon Ultrabook it debuted in August for the 20th anniversary of the ThinkPad. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch has a 14-inch touch display, weighs 3.4 pounds, and has a thickness of 20.8mm. Like the non-touch version, it includes a Lync-optimized 720p face-tracking camera, fingerprint scanner, an eight-hour battery, and optional 3G mobile broadband. Windows 8 and the ten-finger multitouch display over the non-touch ThinkPad X1 Carbon, and the baseline Windows 8 64-bit configuration comes in at $ 1,499.99. Windows 8 has been available for nearly a month now and manufacturers are starting to introduce touch screen panels to allow users to get the most out of the operating system’s revamped interface. Acer Aspire S7 and Dell XPS 12 review: battle of the transforming 1080p touchscreen ultrabooks

Unfortunately, in the process of making these laptops double as tablets, neither Dell nor Acer quite nailed the ergonomics. With the XPS 12, the problems are weight and size. Despite a pair of rubber bumpers on the back which give it some grip, I found the XPS 12 too chunky and weighty to hold in one hand for long, and even with two I felt inclined to prop my elbows up on a surface. Also, in what seems like a missed opportunity, Dell doesn’t let you use the keyboard unless the screen is docked in the laptop position. On a cramped airplane, it’d be nice to be able to position …

Acer Aspire S7 Hands On – 13.3-inch Touchscreen Ultrabook running Windows 8 – Computex 2012

Acer Aspire S7 Hands On www.netbooknews.com The Acer S7 Ultrabook line up features an aluminum body design with an interesting twist on the lid made of a combination of metal and glossy tempered glass, the 11.6″ only offers and aluminum lid, both units sport extremely sharp edges. The S7 series will no doubt be the first of many touch-enabled Ultrabooks we see in Taipei this week, and these in particular have screens that fold back 180 degrees, allowing the system to lie flat. The 13.3 edition claims to offers up to 12 hours of battery life, while the 11.6-inch model can run for up to 9 hours.
